Road Trippin' 2021 Part 1: Hints & hacks for doin' it right on the road
/Hello, Voyagers!
It’s always the right time of year for a road trip, my friends. This one from Arches was from a road trip in January. This site gives ideas on the best road trips for each time of year. I’ll focus on the trip itself. It’s all about comfort, relaxation, taking in the sites and sights, and, oh, yeah. Junk food.
These Spanx pants. They're high-waisted and the most comfy. Bonus: they don't look like spanx or leggings. If you/re worried about them rolling down, simply wear what I wear every day: these Buckle tanks. I can't recommend them enough.
Always wear a long-sleeved hoodie on a road trip, with a light t-shirt under it especially during the summer so you can take it off. You'll actually stay cooler as the sun won't bake your skin.
Don't forgo jewelry, just wear the same earrings the whole trip, preferably ones that hook in the back so you can sleep in them if you want to.
This tinted SPF for your face (no need for foundation!) and this one for your hands.
This Dior gloss. It hydrates and lasts and lasts.
These Snoozies slippers. If you're wearing Uggs in the winter or Reef flippies in the summer, you'll want to drive with these on. Most. Comfy. Ever.
What to have in the car with you?
Get a great water bottle that keeps everything super-cold, Like Liberty Bottleworks. It's made in the USA. AND the company is BADASS. Check it out.
The obvious: a first aid kit, and if you're driving in the winter time, read this and get a winter package.
At least 2 scarves, & an extra light-colored hoodie. These serve as a great way to keep the sun off of you, or to drape on the sun visor when the sun hits that exact spot where the visor doesn’t.
2 small pillows for propping up your arms or keeping your legs comfy.
A roll of paper towels. You’ll thank me for this one.
This cooler. Your sandwich stuff will stay fresh all day long. Plus, you can store your booze in there so that you don’t have to drive all over a strange town looking for beer when all you want to do is get to your hotel.
Snacks (obvs), the junkier the better, and chip clips or rubber bands to close the snacks.
Come back soon for part 2 of Road Trip talk, where we’ll go into the best ways to enjoy the trip, even if driving is not your thing.
Now go forth. Get road-trippin’ again, Voyagers. And stay Veracious.
