Christmas 2021 Gift Guide! Give from companies that give back
/Hello, Voyagers!
This Christmas, it seems like it’s time for some good out in the world, amirite? And bonus if it means finding pieces that are truly unique for the fashionista in your life. Well, I gotcha covered, ‘cause even if they have everything, they don’t have this.
First up is a company called Noonday, and the work they do is incredible. So incredible, in fact, that they have been featured in such publications as Parade and Forbes. They “partner with artisan businesses in developing nations that have a passion for building a flourishing world…empowering them to grow sustainably and to create dignified jobs for people who need them.” Plus their stuff is high quality and totally reasonably priced! Order here!
Recently I had the fantastic luck to have my makeup done by an incredibly talented artist. He was featured on the TV show I am working on, and graciously agreed to do mine for a filming day. Zach Dishinger is beautiful inside and out, and proving it is his company Formula Z’s commitment to giving back. For every one of the gorgeous and shiny Mission Z lipcolor sold, Formula Z Cosmetics donates 30% of the sales price to The Trevor Project’s life-saving work.
And when Zach says, “If you want to be heard, wear lipstick!” you should believe him. Order this gorgeousness here (the lipsticks, not Zach).
There’s a boutique on Lover’s Lane in Dallas that is somewhat understated from the outside, but, my oh my does the inside feel like a fashion-lover’s treasure chest. Brit Rose Boutique has some of the coolest and most stylish clothes & accessories around, absolutely charming & delightful staff, PLUS a great price point. The shop benefits the Brit Rose Foundation, raising funds and awareness for families struggling with mental health issues, as well as funding programs for education about mental illness and bullying.
If you have the chance to be styled by the shop manager Tasha, so much the better! Order here.
I stumbled upon the fabulous Giraffe Boutique on the quaint island of Vashon, off of Seattle. Home decor? Check. Bed & bath? Check. Kitchen & tabletop? Check. Also…fashion! Priscilla, Giraffe’s founder, has created a boutique that is committed to fair trade and working with groups that promote global health & welfare, as well as promoting hand crafted products from over 45 countries! Here is where you will find that special something that literally no one you know has! (In fact, in the middle of November, I found pieces for my Miami Beach’s Art Basel trip at Giraffe! Stay tuned for those looks, my friends!)
If you can’t make it to Vashon, order Giraffe here.
Now, say it with me: what’s better than doing good while looking good? Nothin’!
Merry Christmas, my lovely Voyagers!
